Women in Science and Education (WISE) and Diversity Committee Luncheon
Promoting Visibility of #STEMWomen and Minorities Lunch Event
Co-hosted by Diversity Committee and WISE
Friday, October 5, 2018, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm.
Fee:  $10 USD per person

RSVP: September 14, 2018 (anticipated space for 130 attendees)

Please join the WISE and Diversity committees for a panel presentation and discussion that will offer tangible strategies to promote the visibility of women and minority STEM scientists/educators via media and science communication efforts. Women and minority scientists/educators are less visible in mainstream, institutional, and social media and are also less likely to have visible positions within the academy (e.g., administrative positions, society board positions, conference presenters, editorial roles etc.). Overcoming these issues are paramount to promoting equity and inclusion in academia. The lunch and panel discussion are inclusive and open to all, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, or career level.

To register, please check the appropriate box on the SPR registration form or directly contact the SPR Registrar via email at spr@sprweb.org. Registration for this event is on a first come, first-served basis.
